The only thing I have done is have the batteries out a couple of times. When I got back, I started to play with the custom poi's some more and lo and behold, they are now showing up in the find menu as I exepeted them to originally! I went out shopping today and took the new toy along. However, when I selected find, custom poi's, I still got the message "None Found". Selecting a data base at least allowed me to see the entries.

Partly operator error? - I was playing last night and found there was one more menu level in the custom poi's to select a data base. An incomplete uninstallation of a program may cause problems, which is why. Looks like I may have to give Garmin a ring on this. There could be other causes why users may not be able to uninstall Garmin POI Loader.
GARMIN POI LOADER NOT WORKING DOWNLOAD
I also tried to download the older version but it appears that Garmin has changed their web site so that is not possible any more. I had read the earlier thread about the proximity alarms which is why I thought the version may be the problem even though my symptoms are different. Compatible with Functions and NotesGarmin: POI Loader for Windows Updates & Downloads Home On The Road Updates. I too am waiting for v8 so perhaps that is the problem. I do have City Select installed but it is an older version than I have not enabled for the GPS. Since I see the "Custom POIs" icon in my Find menu, but no "All POIs", I'm thinking that perhaps custom POIs rely on having the detailed maps loaded.
GARMIN POI LOADER NOT WORKING SOFTWARE
I am suspecting, though, that my real problem is that I have not yet installed the City Navigator software (waiting for version 8). I found that the points show up on the map at the 300 ft resolution. I had the same problem with my new Legend Cx a few days ago. I have loaded various poi files, some from mapsource, some from oziexplorer and nothing.Įverything else is working great! Alas, not poi's for me. I have verified the file in on the memory card. As far as I can tell, the don't show up anywhere, find, map various poi folders, etc. I used Mapsource to generate the gpx file of some local poi's (location of my house being one) and loaded them. I also installed version 2.3.1.0 and go ready to play. I have a new 60csc that I just applies all updats to yesterday. GARMIN POI LOADER NOT WORKING MAC OS
The application did not work correctly on devices using the newest MAC OS until Garmin updated it to 64-bit technology. This was due to the MAC operating system switching to exclusive support for 64-bit applications, which resulted in 32-bit apps like POI-Loader not being compatible with macOS Catalina. Up until recently (June 2019), POI-Loader caused problems with macOS 10.15 Catalina, the latest version of MAC OS.

This is the case for Garmin GPS devices, for instance, which require the manufacturer's own POI-Loader software. Depending upon which sat nav device you use, it may be necessary to install additional software if you wish to add custom POI’s and speed camera data to your device.
